Event details

We are delighted to announce the 4th Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox Working Groups Meeting, which will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 10 – 11 September 2026.

The meeting will be held in person, with an online option available for participants who are not able to travel. The Working Groups will meet to advance their ongoing tasks, exchange knowledge, review progress, and prepare upcoming Action outputs. Each Working Group will have dedicated sessions, followed by joint plenary discussions to support coordination across the Action.

WG1 will focus on biofilm methods and models, including the review of current experimental approaches and their potential relevance for regulatory science. Discussions will address advantages, limitations, data requirements, and priorities for further evaluation of methods that may support future standardization.

WG2 will continue its work on standardizing procedures and protocols to assess product effectiveness and improve the reproducibility, comparability and translation of results. The group will also discuss approaches for inter-laboratory studies, data analysis, and method validation.

WG3 will focus on communication, dissemination and education activities. The agenda will include updates on the project website, planning of workshops and training schools, feedback from mobility activities, development of educational materials, online tools, and teaching modules for future training activities.

The meeting will provide an important opportunity to align activities across the Working Groups, strengthen collaboration between Action members, and prepare the next steps towards the development of a regulatory toolbox for biofilm science.

Selected participants will receive reimbursement for travel and subsistence costs according to the COST Rules for Reimbursement.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ljubljana or seeing you online!
