We are thrilled to announce the first Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox project, Work Groups and Main Committee meeting in Porto, to be held in person (and online) 5-6th February 2025.
The Work Groups meet to discuss their tasks and upcoming outputs and then report to the plenary session:
- WG1 will focus mainly on evaluating the advantages and limitations of existing biofilm technologies and emerging technologies (e.g. 3D-printing devices) for their appropriateness to become a regulatory science tool. WG1 will incorporate Biotechnology companies into the WG meetings.
- WG 2 will strive to standardize procedures and protocols to answer specific questions surrounding product effectiveness and maximize the translation of results. WG3 will develop strategies to disseminate the knowledge and create forums to educate the broader scientific and regulatory communities to promote the development and acceptance of standardized biofilm test methods in health care, the built environment, and industrial systems.
- WG3 will focus on the Communication and Dissemination Plan, including tools and methods to ensure that these tasks run smoothly.
The Core Groups will aim to prepare a report about the Action status. The MC will discuss the progress of the action.
Selected participants will receive reimbursement for travel and subsistence costs according to the COST Rules for Reimbursement.
If you have received an invitation through e-COST, please register to attend the event here.
