Open call for networking activities supported by COST Grants
We invite you to explore funding opportunities available through the RegulatoryToolBox COST Action. The programme offers five types of grants to support mobility, career development, and dissemination of research results in the field of biofilms.
Current Timeline
The call remains open until the allocated funds, as defined in the approved budget plan, are no longer available.
Early submission is encouraged, as applications will be assessed on a rolling basis and funding is limited.
- All funded activities must be completed by 15 September 2026.
- Applications must be submitted online via the e-COST system

Eligibility
- Member of Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox COST Action from an Inclusiveness Target COST Member Country or Near Neighbour COST Country
- Oral presentation at a conference
- Presentation of own work but in the scope of the Action
- Applicant’s presentation must feature in the official conference programme

- Abstract of the accepted presentation
- Acceptance letter
- Budget requested and relevance
- Application and final report submission via online e-COST platform

- Up to 2500 € for face-to-face attendance
- Up to 500 € for online attendance

Virtual Mobility Grant
Eligibility
- Member of Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox COST Action
- Any career stage
- Support for online collaboration among researchers and innovators within the COST Action, to exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, and engage in activities such as data analysis, modelling or other that can be carried out without the need of travel
Required information (Application)

- Evidence of collaboration
- Planned virtual tasks and expected outcome
- Relevance to Action objectives

Funding
- Up to € 1500
- The amount granted is decided by Action Core Group, based on evaluator recommendations and considering project duration

Short Term Scientific Mission – STSM
Eligibility
- Member of Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox COST Action
- Any career stage
- Visit by a researcher or innovator to a host organisation in a different country from their country of affiliation, for a defined period (minimum 5 days), to carry out specific work / project relevant to the Action
Required information (Application)
- Project title, start and end date, requested budget
- Invitation letter from the host (contact person)
- Work plan, relevance & motivation
- Application and final report submission via online e-COST platform
Funding
- Up to € 4000
- The amount granted is decided by Action Core Group, based on evaluator recommendations, considering project duration and host location

Young Researcher and Innovator Conference Grant – YRI
Eligibility
- Member of Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox COST Action
- Individual under 40 years of age
- Oral or poster presentation at a conference
- Presentation of own work but in the scope of the Action
- Applicant’s presentation must feature in the official conference programme

- Applicant’s presentation must feature in the official conference programme
